FOCUS
Our main focus is on Chlor-Alkali and caustic soda production industries. Here, brine filtration, for the removal of hardness solids and ion from saturated brines, is achieved by using Auto-Shok (precoat filtration) and Auto-Pulse (membrane filtration) technologies. These tubular type filters are less capital intensive and are used on flow rate of approximately 500 gpm or less. Above this flow rate, Auto-Jet or Filtra-Matic leaf type filters are used.
Whittier Filtration brine softeners use chelating (resins with greater affinity to Calcium over Sodium) and are built to effectively meet the particular requirements of material selection and hydraulic needs of brine softening.
Brine softeners are usually run in series as a primary and polisher unit, due to the purity requirements of the brine to 20 PPB or less. There are two basic configurations of series softeners with either two or three columns of operation. The decision of using either one of these configurations is based on the requirements of continuous operation and treated brine quality.
