Produced Water

Produced water from oil and gas wells is a combination of hydrocarbon, saline water and solids and is typically injected either into a disposal well or back into the production formation to maintain reservoir pressure for enhanced oil recovery.

Before produced water is injected, oil and solids must be removed to prevent the formation from plugging. Primary, secondary and tertiary treatment is often required. Whittier Filtration offers proven technologies for produced water treatment.
