Auto-Pulse Bump & Run Tubular Backpulse Filter
Whittier Filtration—A Leader in Innovative Filtration Systems
Auto-Pulse Tubular Filter
The Auto-Pulse Tubular Backpulse Filter is designed to accomplish submicron filtration without the use of precoats or filter aids. This makes it possible for small amounts of product to be recovered from waste streams and returned to the process stream without contamination. To achieve this unique capability, Auto-Pulse combines proven filter design and modern membrane technology. In addition, because there are no precoats, polymers or other chemicals to store, mix and feed, the Auto-Pulse is less expensive and easier to operate than other designs. Auto-Pulse's submicron filtration capability and tolerance to flow variations make it unparalleled in its application to a wide variety of process or waste streams.
The Membrane Advantage
- Semi-Continuous Operation-removes filter cake in just seconds
- Cost Effective-requires less power for low pressure, low cost filtration
- Efficient-ideal for submicron particle removal
- Rapid Cleaning Cycles-reduces downtime
- Small Filter Footprint-simplifies installation and lowers costs
The "Bump & Run" Process
Instead of a conventional full backflushing, the Auto-Pulse Tubular Backpulse Filter is "bumped". The "bump" occurs when the flow through the tubes is momentarily reversedm dislodging the cake from the non-stick surface. After the solids settle into cone-shaped bottom of an extended filter shell, filter influent is pumped in above the solids layer.
